Promotes Adhesion of 3M™ VHB™ Tape to A Variety of Surfaces
Priming a surface can significantly improve initial and ultimate adhesion to many materials such as plastics and paints because of their low surface energy or the additives they may contain. A primer creates a new surface for 3M™ VHB™ Tape to adhere to and can also help impede the migration of additives that may be present in a material. It is important for the user to determine the suitability of the 3M™ VHB™ Tape, the adhesion promoter and the application process.

Provides the Highest Level of Performance Possible on Difficult Substrates
For proper use of 3M™ VHB™ Primer 94EF, the bonding surface must be relatively clean and dry. Apply a thin uniform coating to the bonding surface using the minimum amount that will fully coat the surface. Allow 3M™ VHB™ Primer 94EF to dry thoroughly before applying tape. Make sure the primed surface remains free from contaminants prior to applying the tape. Porous surfaces may require 2 applications for uniform coverage and good adhesion. Allow your first application of primer to dry before applying a second coat (which may be necessary on porous surfaces). 3M™ VHB™ Primer 94EF may be applied with a brush, felt-tip dauber bottle, swab, pressurized flow gun, knurled roller, etc.
